Ms. Richard continued in her role on EastEnders, as well as reprising an old role . . .
	Grace & Favour I (90k)	. . . as the pert Miss Brahms in the sequel to AYBS? entitled Grace and Favour. Ms. Richard (who has aged wonderfully well over the intervening seven years since the final episode of the original series) re-donned the oft-times garish wardrobe of the junior ladies' sales assistant (including her trademark brooches).

The first image is of Bill Treacher and Wendy dressed as their EastEnders characters, Arthur and Pauline. The shot is clearly outdoors; possibly at a real garden or flower show. Of course Wendy tones down her jewelry when in costume -- but while the wedding band is a prop, the ring on her left little finger appears to be her own.

The 2nd image is from the same shoot. As one may see from both these photos, Pauline does smile! (And click here if you require even more proof.)

This delightful publicity shot of Wendy as Pauline Fowler appeared in Films in Review magazine in 1992.

		EastEnders (18k)	EastEnders in 1992 saw Ms. Richard's character take a long trip to New Zealand (a break that Wendy used to do Grace and Favour). On her return, she eschewed the pony tail which Pauline had worn before for a loose pageboy hairstyle. (The ponytail doesn't return until 1996.) These two are before . . .

Grace and Favour was not picked up for a third season, so in 1993, Ms. Richards concentrated on her tried and true role of Pauline Fowler, as well as a short cameo on a special revival of Dr Who.

These two images are posed publicity shots. I suspect the first photo here -- one of the handsomest of Pauline Fowler -- is from the same shoot that produced the image used on Wendy's publicity card from the early 1990s.

This shadowed picture has its origins in a photo of Pauline (well, Wendy) that appeared in the BBC book EastEnders: The First Ten Years.

		EastEnders (61k)	Despite the fact these photos were used in magazines as late as 1996, it seems likely that all are from the same publicity photo shoot, circa 1993 or 1994. The first image appeared in Inside Soap, 1994; the second in TV Times in 1996; and the third in Woman's Own, also in 1996. Note also the small pin Pauline wears in the 3rd photo. It's the symbol of the real-life Variety Club's Gold Heart children's charity, a sponsor of which Wendy was for many years.

This could be a specially-staged snapshot, since there were reports at the time that Wendy was too ill that month to be present during the actual filming of Arthur Fowler's funeral.
