Circles, 36-21 Review Avenue, Queens, NY
The guy who scribbled this sign was in such a hurry to go on vacation that he spelled it "VACTION." |

Call Box Lounge, 148 Kingsland Avenue, Brooklyn, NY
There's a double mistake on this awning. First, most obviously, it should read "HEARTY," not "HARDY." Second, on closer inspection - see picture 2 - it appears to have been originally spelled "HARDLY." The guy responsible for this one should hardly be given a laurel for "hardy." Hardy-har-har! |

Chifa Peruano, 42-18 Greenpoint Avenue, Sunnyside, NY
Maybe the tyke in the chef's outfit pictured at the right on this awning spelled "CHINESE" as "CHINISE." If so, then he did a darn good job with the spelling for a kid of his age. But I want to know: What the heck is "Chinese Food Peruvian"? On second thought, I don't want to know. |

"Burgers" is the plural of "burger." Am I to assume then that "burgerss" is the plural of "burgers?" There's another error, not a spelling one, but one of punctuation: I see that if you're "craving for a snack" they also have "BEEF, PATTIES." ("Care for some beef?" "No, but I'll have a few patties.") |

Sleep Well Italian Furniture, 86-50 Queens Boulevard, Elmhurst, NY
There's a lack of lacquer bedroom furniture in this place, because they sell only "lacker" furniture. I should say "sold" - note the "For Rent" signs in the window. And they offered "dinning" room furniture, not "dining" room furniture. Is a dinning room a place in which the family makes a lot of noise? |

Nuttin' but futtons. |

Guanche Deli Grocery, 46-01 48th Avenue, Woodside, NY
Cigarettes are small cigars. Ergo cigarrettes must be small cigarrs. Also: Note the absence of an asterisk between "COFFEE" and "CIGARRETTES." So it's actually "COFFEE CIGARRETTES." Mmmm ... mocha java nicotino. |

Allen Supply, 1717 Troutman Street, Ridgewood, NY
I realize that what we in the U.S. refer to as "aluminum" Britons call "aluminium." But what's "alumium?" Oh, and for all I know the Oriental characters are wrong, too. |

Sounds pretty fickle to me. |

Delancey Trading Inc., 34-01 College Point Boulevard, Flushing, NY
A different kind of two-fer: The sign on the establishment indicates "CERMIC TILE." But on their van it reads "CERMAIC TILE." I'm confoozed. |
